Project Description
Purba Dhoka Mahamai emerges from the Thumka path as a complex interplay of symbolic elements. On the right wooden block, a male figure faces south with a yellow shaligram, while the female Seto Nāg faces north toward the Machapuchare Himal with a blue shaligram, positioned directly opposite each other. An abstract copper sculpture atop the block signifies the high energy of the universe. On the left block, the Seti Nāg winds through nine gates, corners, and levels, channeling power and representing the governing force of the state, topped by a triangular symbol of the cosmos. At the center, a cannon rotates east to west, expressing the artist’s vision of war, revolution, and global transformation. By harnessing the energies of the sun and moon, the work captures the dynamic tension between creation, destruction, power, and universal energy.
